Small label.
Clear message.

A label has a small space to do a big job. It needs to tell people what they are buying, feel right for your brand and leave room for the information your product needs. Our label design services help UK businesses turn a rough idea, an existing pack or a growing product range into artwork that is clear and ready to review with a printer.

Good product label design is not just about a pretty sticker. We look at the shape of your bottle, jar, pouch or box, the distance from which customers will read it, and how the label will look in a shop or on a phone screen. We plan the front, sides and back together rather than treating the front panel as a separate poster.

Whether you need one label for a new launch, a private label product design or a consistent look across several flavours, we start with the practical details. We agree the format, supplied text, print specification, revision rounds and final files before design work begins. You keep control over the decisions that affect your product.

Discuss your label project

Good design.
Thoughtful details.

We agree exactly what's included before we start. Here are some of the creative deliverables we can build around your brief.

01

Label concepts

Typography, hierarchy and concept directions.

02

Multi-size variants

Layouts for different flavours, sizes and product types.

03

Printer alignment

Artwork built against approved dielines and specifications.

04

Realistic previews

Mock-ups to review placement, contrast and shelf impact.

Never just
decoration.

01 /

Make the essentials clear

Help shoppers find the product information they need.

02 /

Stand out as a range

Create a family look that still distinguishes variants.

03 /

Prepare for production

Consider printer constraints early in the design stage.

Labels for every
kind of product.

Food, drinks, skincare, candles and more. Different categories need different details, materials and approvals.

01 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Food label design

From sauces, jams and bakery goods to snacks and prepared foods, a food label must be easy to follow. We can organise the product name, flavour, net quantity and space for approved ingredients and allergen details. Labels for food sold in the UK need information that matches the actual product; the food business confirms the legal wording before print.

02 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Drink and bottle label design

Water, juice, coffee drinks and other bottled products need layouts that sit comfortably on curved surfaces. Bottle label design considers where the front panel starts, where seams fall and how the artwork looks on a cold or wet container. Wine, beer and spirits may need additional category-specific legal information and checks.

03 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Cosmetic and skincare label design

Skincare label design can be calm and premium without hiding useful information. We help arrange the product name, use, instructions and space for the approved ingredient list, batch information and Responsible Person details. Cosmetic claims and legal text must be supplied and checked by the responsible business or specialist. Cosmetic label design also needs room for the information specific to that product type, not just the brand story.

04 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Candle and home fragrance labels

Candle label design often has to work on dark glass, matt jars and very small lids. We balance scent names, collection colours and brand details while planning space for any applicable product-safety warnings. Hazard labelling requirements can differ by product and formulation; your safety adviser should approve the final wording.

05 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Supplements and wellness products

Supplement label design calls for careful text planning. Serving information, ingredients, directions, warnings and nutrition details can take up more space than the front artwork. We can organise approved copy with a clear hierarchy. We do not invent health claims or decide whether a supplement is legally suitable for sale.

06 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Tea, coffee and artisan goods

A tea label or coffee bag label should make it easy to identify the blend, roast, origin or flavour. We can build a flexible range design that changes colour or illustration between variants while keeping the company name, category and product information in familiar places.

07 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Beauty, haircare and personal care

Shampoo bottle labels, soap labels and hair product labels may need to remain readable over different container sizes. We consider water resistance with your printer, text hierarchy and versions for travel-size packs or gift sets. The finished look should also work on ecommerce product photos.

08 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Cleaning and household products

A cleaning product label often needs strong contrast, space for usage directions and any applicable hazard symbols. We help with layout and print preparation using copy approved by your business. Product classification, warnings and chemical labelling decisions must be confirmed by a qualified person.

09 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Private label and white label brands

A white label product becomes easier to recognise when the logo, type, colour and product naming follow a system. We can adapt a base template for related items and help you plan packaging labels for private label ranges without making every new version feel unrelated.

10 / PRODUCT CATEGORY

Ecommerce and subscription products

Online shoppers may first see a label as a small thumbnail. Ecommerce product label design needs a clear name and strong contrast even before customers zoom in. We check how the approved design looks in realistic product mock-ups as well as a flat print file.

The right label
for the right pack.

A bottle wrap, sticker, shrink sleeve and jar lid all need their own approach. Your printer provides the final template.

01 / LABEL FORMAT

Bottle, jar and tub labels

Front-and-back pairs, wraparound bottle labels and lid stickers each require different measurements. The print supplier should provide the correct template, safe areas, direction of application and any limits caused by curves or tapers.

02 / LABEL FORMAT

Stickers and adhesive roll labels

Custom sticker label design can support short product runs, events and growing brands. We can prepare artwork for sheet labels or roll label printing when supplied with the printer's sizes, bleed, colour profile and finishing instructions.

03 / LABEL FORMAT

Pouches, sachets and cartons

Some artwork sits directly on a pouch or carton rather than on an applied sticker. We plan panels and safe areas around folds, seals, tear notches and other structural features using the packaging manufacturer's dieline.

04 / LABEL FORMAT

Shrink sleeves and shaped containers

Shrink sleeve labels need specialist distortion mapping and a converter-approved specification. A flat image can change when it shrinks around a bottle. We can coordinate artwork placement with your supplier, but production testing remains the converter's responsibility.

05 / LABEL FORMAT

Limited editions and seasonal variants

Gift sets, promotions and limited releases can reuse a clear identity while changing colour, photography or product names. A practical master template reduces unnecessary redesign work each time a variant launches.

06 / LABEL FORMAT

Peel-and-reveal or multi-layer labels

When the approved product copy will not fit in one visible panel, multi-layer formats may offer more space. We can plan the graphics around a printer-supplied construction, including opening areas and instructions. Suitability and legal display obligations need specialist confirmation.

Looks good.
Reads clearly.

A useful label needs clear text, sensible colour choices and the right print specifications—not just a striking mock-up.

01

Readable product hierarchy

Start with the brand, product name and essential distinction, such as flavour or strength. Text should be legible at actual size, not only when a large design proof is open on screen. We review type size, line length and contrast.

02

Consistent SKU and range design

Customers should see a family resemblance between related products and still find the right version quickly. Colour coding, shape, illustrations and product names can work together, but colour alone should not carry vital meaning.

03

Material, finish and adhesive

Paper, film, textured stocks and clear labels behave differently under light, water and handling. Matt, gloss, foil and spot varnish finishes can alter the result. The printer confirms material suitability, food-contact requirements and tests where needed.

04

Barcode, QR code and useful information

Barcodes need the correct numbers, dimensions, quiet zones and contrast. The business provides approved barcode data and should verify it with its barcode provider or printer. QR codes can link to instructions or product stories, but required legal information must still appear wherever law requires it.

05

Colour and prepress checks

RGB mock-ups are not proof of how CMYK or spot colours will print. We work to the approved artwork specification and check bleed, trim, safe zones, image resolution and text outlines or font handling. Request a physical proof before a large print run.

06

Accessibility and honest claims

Avoid light grey text on a pale background, confusing type styles or tiny instructions. If you plan to say 'recyclable', 'eco-friendly' or another environmental claim, the business should have evidence for that claim before it goes on the label.

New idea, new size
or a fresh look?

We can scope complete custom label design, range extensions, redesigns or print artwork updates.

01 / PROJECT TYPE

New product label design

For a first launch, we can explore design directions, develop the selected route and prepare a final file for the agreed format. Product details, compliance text and printer dimensions should be supplied before final sign-off. Packaging label design should account for every panel that a customer or printer will handle.

02 / PROJECT TYPE

Label redesign and refresh

If an older label feels crowded or no longer fits your brand, we can improve hierarchy and clarity while keeping the elements customers already recognise. A packaging label redesign does not always require a complete new identity.

03 / PROJECT TYPE

Multi-product label systems

A product family can use a master system with room for flavour, scent, colour and size changes. We recommend agreeing one approved master design before building every variant. That makes future updates simpler.

04 / PROJECT TYPE

Packaging artwork and print adaptation

If you already have an approved visual design, you may only need final artwork, new sizes or a printer-ready adaptation. We can scope artwork services separately from full creative exploration, based on the files and dielines available. These label artwork services focus on the technical adaptation of an agreed design rather than a fresh creative concept.

Important details
deserve real space.

Good layout helps, but legal content, safety and product claims must be approved by the responsible business or appropriate specialist.

Food label design in the UK needs accurate product information. Depending on the food and how it is sold, this may include the name, ingredients, allergens, net quantity, date marking, storage instructions, origin or food business details. These are not identical requirements for every product. The business supplying or selling the food is responsible for confirming its legal obligations and accurate copy.

For prepacked food, allergens in the ingredients list must be emphasised when required. For prepacked food for direct sale (PPDS), including certain food packed on the same premises before a customer chooses it, specific ingredient and allergen rules also apply. We can provide clear layout space; we cannot verify the recipe or make allergen decisions.

Cosmetics have a different set of labelling duties, including required product information and a Responsible Person. Household chemicals and some candles may have their own hazard information rules. If a range will be sold in Northern Ireland, the EU or other markets, additional or different rules may apply.

Before approving print, check the actual container, label dimensions, wording, barcodes, material, finish and product category requirements with your manufacturer and relevant adviser. A design mock-up is not evidence of legal compliance, and an attractive proof is not a substitute for a production sample.

We can help arrange approved ingredients, instructions and warnings, but the customer, food business operator, Responsible Person or appointed compliance professional must confirm the facts, claims, safety information and legal suitability before the artwork is printed.

Official UK guidance and further reading

These sources explain product information duties. They are provided for reference, not as a claim that any specific design has been legally certified.

From first brief
to final artwork.

Clear steps help keep design decisions, print preparation and approvals in the right order.

01 / STEP

Understand the product

We ask what you sell, who buys it, where it will appear and which packs and sizes need labels. Photos, a sample container and a competitor reference can help explain the brief.

02 / STEP

Collect the practical files

You share your logo, wording, ingredient lists or warnings approved by the responsible business, SKU list and printer templates. We flag missing information before the artwork is prepared.

03 / STEP

Agree a visual direction

We explore the number of initial concepts included in your selected package. Together we review the name hierarchy, colours, typography and how the design fits its container.

04 / STEP

Develop and refine

We apply the agreed feedback within the package's revision allowance, then check the variants together to keep the brand family consistent.

05 / STEP

Prepare final artwork

We build final output against printer specifications supplied to us, including colour setup, bleed and safe areas as required. Proofing and final production checks remain important.

06 / STEP

Approve and hand over

After the customer approves the final text and design, we provide the agreed deliverables. If the supplier changes a dieline later, we can quote for an updated size or artwork adaptation.

Label design cost
explained clearly.

Compare the number of concepts, formats and variants—not just the starting price.

Label design cost depends on the number of products, whether you need a new creative direction or an adaptation, and how much approved information must fit on the pack. A single simple label is usually a smaller project than a coordinated range across bottles, pouches and boxes.

Our published label design pricing starts at £300 for the Launch package, £475 for the Range package and £850 for the Collection package. Each has a defined scope and revision allowance. Printing, barcode registration, legal review, laboratory work and specialist materials are not automatically included. Please review the package cards below before requesting a quote.

If you have six products that only need colour and name changes on one agreed format, that may be simpler than six products with different shapes and legal text. We can discuss a practical scope rather than charging for work you do not need. We will explain any extra adaptation or revision charges before they are agreed.

A label design
partner you can reach.

Share your product details and dimensions with us. Remote collaboration can work well for print artwork and approvals.

People searching for a 'label designer near me' or a 'product label design agency near me' often want someone easy to contact and able to understand their market. We welcome UK enquiries and can discuss artwork, printing information and feedback remotely. Our contact page provides the business contact details. If you are comparing a label design company with a label printing supplier, ask who creates the visual concept and who approves the print specification. A label design agency plans the look and artwork; the production supplier confirms the physical output.

Whether you are based in London or elsewhere in the UK, the most helpful starting point is a clear product brief, dimensions and launch goal. We do not claim to have a local production facility or printing partner in every town. Label printing is arranged with a suitable supplier as agreed.

Questions?
We've got answers.

What are product label design services?

They cover the layout and artwork people see on bottles, jars, cartons, pouches and other products. A project may include a new look, a label redesign, a range of variants or printer-ready files, depending on the agreed brief.

How much does label design cost in the UK?

Our published packages start at £300 for Launch, £475 for Range and £850 for Collection. The quote depends on formats, concepts, revisions and variants. Printing, barcode registration and legal checks are not automatically included.

Do you offer food label design services?

Yes. We can design the visual layout and arrange product details supplied and approved by your food business. We do not verify ingredients, allergen accuracy or whether your final label meets all legal requirements.

Can you create cosmetic and skincare labels?

Yes. We can design labels for skincare, haircare and personal care ranges using your approved copy. The brand's Responsible Person must check required cosmetic information and any claims before production.

Can you design bottle and jar labels?

Yes. We can use a printer-approved template to plan front, back or wraparound bottle and jar label artwork. The final material and adhesive should be tested with your chosen printer.

Do you design custom labels for small businesses?

Yes. We can focus on one product launch or develop a flexible family of labels for a growing business. A smaller range can start with a consistent master format and add variations later.

What is included in your label design packages?

The package cards below explain how many concepts, variants, mock-ups and revision rounds are included. We agree the printer-ready file format with you and your supplier before final handover.

Do you offer label printing as well as design?

Our listed packages are design services. Physical label printing is not included unless separately agreed. Your chosen print supplier confirms material, adhesive, quantities, finishes and production suitability.

What files will I receive?

Depending on scope and printer instructions, handover can include production PDFs and agreed artwork files or previews. Exact editable source-file rights and formats must be specified in the quotation.

Can you prepare print-ready label artwork?

Yes, when you provide the final approved copy and your printer's current specification. We consider bleed, colour setup, safe areas, barcodes and supplied dielines. The printer and customer should approve final proof and production output.

Can you redesign existing product labels?

Yes. We can retain useful brand elements while improving product hierarchy, legibility and consistency. Share a photograph and the current artwork if you have it.

Can you design a range with different flavours or scents?

Yes. A master design can be adapted across sizes, flavours or scents with consistent typography, product naming and variant colours. Check the included variation count in each package.

Can you help with QR codes and barcodes?

We can allow suitable artwork space and place supplied, approved barcode or QR assets. Barcode numbers, validation, link destinations and retail acceptance remain your responsibility or that of your provider.

Can you design sustainable packaging labels?

We can plan graphics for materials selected with your supplier and avoid unsupported environmental claims. Whether a label is recyclable depends on the full pack, adhesive, material and actual recycling conditions.

Do you guarantee that my label meets UK rules?

No. A design agency cannot confirm legal compliance simply from the layout. The responsible business and qualified advisers must approve product facts, required wording, claims, safety information and relevant UK rules.

How long does a label design project take?

Timing depends on the brief, the number of concepts and products, your feedback and how quickly approved wording and printer specifications arrive. We agree a practical schedule in the quotation.

Can you work with a printer I already use?

Yes. Send their dieline, PDF export settings, colour and finishing requirements. We can adapt the artwork to those instructions within the agreed project scope.

Do you offer label design near me?

You can contact us for label design enquiries from London and other parts of the UK. Most design reviews and file handovers can be managed remotely, so a local meeting is not essential.

Should I choose sticker labels or direct packaging print?

It depends on the container, quantity, print budget and material. Applied stickers may suit smaller runs, while direct print or sleeves can make sense for other products. Ask suppliers for samples and quotes before committing.

Can a QR code replace ingredients or warnings on a label?

No. A QR link can provide helpful extra information but it should not be treated as a replacement for information that UK law requires to appear on the physical packaging or label.

something brilliant.
